Annual General Meeting
SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

The committee of the GGCD Baseball Club hereby invites all Members to attend a Special General Meeting in order to vote on the acceptance of our new Club Constitution.  Please join us from 7pm Wednesday May 29 at the GGCD club rooms.  The new proposed GGCD Constitution will be forwarded to all members for perusal on Tuesday May 14 via email. Please contact the Secretary Regina Rose at reginarose@bigpond.com or telephone 0419 424 893 if you require additional copies.

This meeting will be followed by the 2012/13 Annual General Meeting from 8pm.  We are seeking persons interested in helping our club move forward by nominating for the following positions:
President (Lynton Arscott currently holds a 2 year term), House & Grounds Co-ordinator (and 4/5 sub-committee), Vice President, Equipment Manager, Secretary (Regina Rose currently holds a 2 year term), Uniform Manager, Treasurer Fundraising Co-ordinator (and 4/5 sub-committee), Sponsorship Co-ordinator, Social Co-ordinator (and 4/5 sub-committee), Grants Co-ordinator, Website Designer, Operations Manager, Child Protection Officer, Senior Co-ordinator, General Committee members (as required), Junior Co-ordinator, SABL Delegates: Senior / Junior. canteen Manager (and 5+ sub-committee), Scoring, Bar Manager (and 4/5 sub-committee) & Umpiring.

As you can see there are many roles to fill – and certainly way too many for the ½ dozen or so committee members this season who were worked to the bone. We all like to enjoy the baseball and the success of the entire club, so if you could create some spare time in your busy week then please help us out. Please contact Regina via email or on 0419 424 893 if you would like to nominate for or require more information on any of the positions above.

SPECIAL NOTE: VOTING RIGHTS
All are welcome to attend, however only the following persons have voting rights at club meetings:-
Senior Players
Life Members
One parent per junior player
Committee Members
Social Members
Voting rights will be verified from the attendance sheet on the night – if you would like to vote but do not fall in to these categories, please contact me for details on how to become a Social Member.

Hope to see you there!

2012/13 Awards Wrap Up

As the 2012/13 SABL season has come to a close and the annual Capps Medal dinner is done and dusted it’s time to recognise some of the amazing achievements our senior teams & players have accomplished this season:

The following players were selected as part of the Division 1 SABL All-Star Team:

Adrian Chenoweth (Coach)
Tim Brown (P)
Landon Hernandez (C)
Dennis Christensen (2B)
Drew Clark (RF)

Adrian’s selection as Coach is a reflective accomplishment of our division 1 squad finishing the season as minor premiers (24-4-2) and along with London is his second consecutive all-star nomination. It is the first (hopefully of many) for Tim, Dennis and Drew.

Landon was recognised as the season RBI leader with a total of 36 in 30 games while our own Jeremy Cresswell finished second for the SABL Batting Title with a massive average of .431 and was separated by only .002 from third place finisher Drew Clark with .429

Drew, Tim and Landon were also top 10 finishers in the Capps Medal voting.

The Division 1 squad had the highest team batting average for the season with .317 and were one of only two with an average over .300

Although the Division 2 squad were unable to get to the big dance to defend their title they were still one game out from getting there going down 9-6 in the semi-final.  This is a massive achievement seeing as the average age of the infield alone was 17, a bright future awaits these guys.

Congratulations to the Division 7 squad who took out the 2012/13 Premiership beating Playford 8-6 in a hard fought battle with Big Joe Balzan throwing a complete game for the win and backed up by Jake Williams’ 4 hits.

Dodgers T-Ball

T-Ball is a fun sport where boys and girls have an equal opportunity to participate!  Our one hour games are played during Term 1 & Term 4 on Saturday mornings from 9am at Illyarrie Reserve, Surrey Downs.

If you are in Year 2 or 3, be sure to have your interests registered to play at the Dodger’s Baseball Club – the Home of Baseball in Tea Tree Gulley – on Saturday, 9/2/13 from 10am til 12noon.  Year 4 & 5 students are also welcomed to play.

If your school is unable to nominate a team to participate, the Dodgers will place you in one of their teams. A ‘Come n Try’ session will be held on Registration Day, 9/2/13, from 10am til 11am. Bring yourself, mates or team!
