RE-INTRODUCING OUR CLUB’S NEW BOARD of DIRECTORS
As you may know by now, our new Chairman is Shaun Evans, and
he has also, taken on the Grants and Sponsorship portfolio.

He comes to us after many years from the Kensington Baseball Club where he played
Juniors, Seniors and became a Cardinal’s Playing Life member.

Welcome to our Club, Shaun!
(Several years ago, Shaun coached our Tigers T-Ball team for two seasons when his two daughters played.
They are now, Jaguar Netball players 😊)

Scott Coxhill has come on board again to take the Administration Director’s portfolio fulfilling the Secretarial role
amongst other important Club functions including our Club’s website, Child Protection and Scorers.

Scott fulfilled this role some years ago for three seasons and now, he’s back.
He has been with our Club a long time – starting with T-ball, then, as a Junior and now, one of our Senior players.

Kristen Webb is our new Operations Director and will be looking after all our Club’s teams.
She has played baseball with us for many years and has played for our State Women’s team.

Andy Brown is our new In-House Operations Director taking on the Bar and Canteen portfolio.
He is new to our Club also and coming for his second season of baseball here after a hiatus of 25 years.

Gavin Payne continues for another term doing his great job as
Director of Equipment & House and Grounds.

Keep up the good work, Gav!
You’re doing a fantastic job making us all proud of our grounds – thanks to your hard work!

Liv Trembath is our Director of Fundraising and Social. She is the coordinator for all our Fundraising
and Social Coordinator for all our fun Social Events this season.

Sharee Forrester is continuing her term as our Finance Director looking after our
funds, regos, transfers, and Uniforms.

Please give them all your support where you can.
Its volunteers like these that keep our Club running well.
Its hard work, so help when/where you can!

FINAL WORK BEE – SATURDAY 25/9
This is the last Work Bee to bring our grounds up to Game Day presence on Saturday from 11am to 1pm.
We will be working around the training sessions on the day.

Gavin (our Head Groundsman extraordinaire) will be out there finalising the
areas around the pitcher’s mounds, cut outs and cleaning up our batting cages.

If you’re not training this weekend, please come out and lend a hand.
Let’s do this!

JUNIOR TEAM SELECTIONS TO BE DONE SOON
Now that Footy, Soccer, Ice Hockey and other winter sports are finished,
we are looking forward to seeing more of our junior players coming out to join us for preseason training.

We still have some room for U11s, U13s and U17 players.
If you have a mate, bring him/her along on Saturday. Share the fun with a mate.

DATES FOR ALL GRADES – The season in a nutshell…

TIMETABLES FOR ALL GRADES: 2021-22

T-BALL – COMING SOON…
If you and/or your young children’s mates are looking for Summer Fun, try T-Ball!

Be sure to tell them about our ‘Come n Try’ sessions on Monday, 18 October and
Friday, 22 October from 6-7pm at our grounds.

Games start on 29 October 2021. Save the dates.

CLUB SPONSORS NEEDED –
Sponsorship is a very important part of our Club’s viability to help sustain our Club
– especially early in our season when we don’t have much of a cash flow for start-up expenses.

It’s up to ALL Club members (Yes, this means you) to help locate
companies or individuals willing to support our community’s sport.

Our ‘selling point’ is that we have approximately 250 families involved with our Club plus their friends and neighbours.
We appreciate all our sponsors who support our Community sport!

Contact me (Bob) or our Chair, Shaun, if you have a lead or need further information.
Our sponsorship packages are below.

We want to welcome our new sponsor, McLean Home Loans.
If you’re looking for a home loan, be sure to call Mat McLean on 0408 085 635 or visit his website.

GGCD ‘UMPIRE COORDINATOR’ WANTED
Here it is again – please consider
This season, the League has asked each Club to appoint an Umpire Coordinator.

There will be NO league umpires available for most of our Senior, Women’s and Junior games.
Club umpires are needed for these games.

If you are interested in volunteering to umpire at our Club this season,
please contact Kristen, our Director of Baseball Operations.

REMEMBER: THERE ARE NO GAMES WITHOUT UMPIRES!

Use the link to the BSA website below, register yourself and receive an email with a link which will take
you to the brand new online umpire information and training material.

Thank you.

HOME RUN FENCE
The Council will be putting up our Home Run Fence on Tuesday, 5 October.
It will stay in place until our season is finished.

This will free up our ‘street side’ batting tunnel for
live hitting and Tee drills. Yippee!

‘PLAYERS AUCTION’ – FRIDAY, 8 OCTOBER!
More info forthcoming! SAVE THE DATE! A fun night!
Pick your player for the season who may win home game’s MVP and
win your money back! Or just support your favourite player! 😊

ARMCHAIR UMPIRE – DID YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CALL?
Except for the Pitcher and Catcher, any fielder may station himself anywhere in fair territory.

TIP OF THE WEEK – Heads Up!

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday at the Launch!
Stay safe and be sure to ‘Check In’.

Cheers,
Bob
